R&B star Akon has been refused a Sri Lankan visa after one of his music videos spurred violent protests in the nation's capital. The singer apologised to Sri Lankan Buddhists, saying he "never set out to offend or desecrate anyone's religion" with the video to Sexy Chick, which shows a raunchy pool party in front of a statue of the Buddha.

"I am a spiritual man, so I can understand why they are offended," Akon said. "But violence is never the answer and I am disheartened to hear about what happened in Sri Lanka."

Sexy Chick is not strictly speaking Akon's song – it was released by French producer David Guetta, with Akon as guest vocalist. Nor is the video a parade of sharply targeted blasphemies. Instead, it's the most banal kind of dance-music clip, with writhing bikini babes and terrible haircuts. Shot at a mansion in Ibiza, the Buddha statue scarcely figures at all, appearing in the corner of frames, out of focus, for mere instants (minutes 2:06 in youtube of the song). Akon claims that he was not aware the statue was even there.

Despite this, hundreds of people stormed the headquarters of Colombo's Maharaja television network on Monday, protesting a forthcoming gig by Akon. Demonstrators threw stones, with four workers injured and several cars smashed, according to the BBC. The Sri Lankan government subsequently denied the Senegalese-born singer's visa request, citing his "controversial video images, offensive song lyrics and strong protests coming from various cultural, religious groups and organisations in the country".

Akon's promoters have formally cancelled the 20 April concert, but say they are hoping to reschedule once the "situation [has been] resolved".

Who Said Akon is Bad? He is Damn Badd Actually !!!

Konsert Akon Freedom Beach Concert 2009 di Surf Beach paradise, Sunway lagoon Sabtu lalu adalah yang terhebat pernah saya saksikan sepanjang 3X Akon singgah di Malaysia !! Menurut cerita 8000 tiket berjaya dijual tetapi dari pandangan mata kasar saya lautan manusia melebihi dari 10, 000 orang. Begitulah betapa hebatnya pengaruh Akon di Malaysia !!! Jika ada yang mengatakan Akon adalah Bad Boy memandang beliau adalah Konvict; tennyata hampa kerana tiada kejadian yang tidak diingini berlaku. Penyanyi Senegal-Amerika yang terkenal dengan "tossing-fan-offstage" dan juga " gyranting-with-girl-onstage" ini tenyata mengikuti peraturan yang telah ditetapkan oleh Kerajaan tanpa sedikitpun mengurangkan tenaga dalam persembahan beliau dengan menyampaikan lagu-lagu hit beliau dan protege beliau (sepeti Just Dance, What You Got & Dangerous)

Akon memulakan persembahan lebih kurang jam 9.15 malam setelah dua penyanyi Malaysia membuat persembahan sebagai opening act iaitu Nikki (what a waste panggil Nikki, sebab kesalahan pemilihan lagu dan suara beliau ala-ala opera membuatkan penonton 'boo') Nasib baik artis Malaysia di selamatkan oleh rapper underground Caprice yang memberikan persembahan yang amat memberangsangkan !!!

Persembahan Akon dimulakan dengan 'perfect' sekali. It is an awsome performance since the very first minute. Untuk sebuah konsert terbukan Akon adalah 'pitch perfect' untuk keseluruhan persembahan. Sehinggakan jika kita memejam mata kita akan terasa seperti mendengar suara Akon dari alat pemain cakera padat. Saya bukan sahaja terhibur tetapi kesungguhan Akon untuk menghiburkan peminat adalah amat jelas bukan sahaja dengan pemilihan lagu, tenaga yang beliau ada, percakapan yang terancang dan pergerakan yang sungguh energetic.

Antara lagu yang sempat di nyayanikan oleh Akon termasuklah Soul Survivor, Getto, Smack That, I'm So Paid, Right Now (Na Na Na), I Want To Love You dan lain-lain lagi.

Antara aksi merbahaya yang telah dilakukan oleh Akon ialah apabila beliau telah tanpa di sangka-sangka telah melontarkan dirinya ke arah penonton dan menyatakan beliau akan merangkak (ataupun diusung oleh para peminat)ke hujung batasan penonton dalam usaha untuk membuktikan yang semua peminatnya bersatu hati. Sesungguhnya tindakan berani mati Akon ini telah membuktikan kepada dunia dan penghibur barat bahawa Malaysia adalah sebuah Negara Aman dan peminat Malaysia bukan sahaja sporting tetapi berhemah tinggi. Ini adalah kerana Akon berjaya sampai ke penghujung dengan selamat di tambah pula dengan tiada seorang penonton pun yang tercedera. Maka terdengarlah perkataan yang terpacul dari mulut peminat... "OMG I touched akon !!!".

Maka berakhirlah dengan jayanya konsert yang saya tunggu-tunggu sejah Julai lalu. Saya amat berbangga kerana bukan sahaja dapat menyaksikan persembahan Akon secara live untuk kali ketiga tetapi akhirnya dapat bergambar dengan Akon di PC !!! YES... hasrat tercapai !!!

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank Mujahid for making this happen to me, dengan izin Allah s.w.t. off course after last night attemp after the concert failed. Ya lah kita hanya mewrancang, tuhan yang menentukan. May be, suasana Hotel Nikko yang eksklusif lebih sesuai dengan saya jika dibandingkan selepas bermandikan peluh di belakang pentas untuk berjumpa dengan Akon. My No 1 Artiste at the moment !!!

Nothing to story much as the PC because it is very-very short and simple. Akon sampai lebih kurang jam 3.20 pm. Selepas kami menunggu agak lama dan lampu di Bently's Pub, Level 1, Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur tu asyik 'lip lap lip lap'. Saya cuma menjamah cheese cake (itu saya yang mampu di makan) dan minum teh. Saya duduk di kerusi hadapan bersama reporter lain yang gah. Malu jugak nii... Tapi dah alang-alang datang kan..

Saya kira cuma ada 4 soalan yang diajukan. Antara yang saya sempat catat ialah berkenaan 'crawling' di atas peminat yang telah dilakukan oleh Akon sejauh 60 meter. Ini adalah bukti nyata kepada semua Penghibur dari luar negara (dengar tuu Rihanna, Beyonce...:))) yang Negara Malaysia secara amnya adalah SELAMAT dan peminat di Malaysia bukan sahaja 'sporting' tetapi berhemah. Sehinggakan Akon tidak jatuh dan tidak juga mengalami sebarang kecederaan. Akon sungguh BERANI dan para peminat menyambut keberanian tersebut dengan kesungguhan. Syabas & Tabik untuk Akon!!!

Soalan lain ialah berkenaan kenapa Akon tidak menyanyikan lagu 'Lonely'. Lagu yang telah menjadikan seorang 'star' kepada 'megastar'. Jawaban Akon agak lucu, katanya ada lebih kurang 10 buah lagu yang tidak dapat dinyanyikan beliau kerana tidak cukup masa !!! Hmm... konsert sebenarnya habis agak awal, lebih kurang jam 10.45 malam. Tapi saya kira Akon mungkin keletihan yang amat sangat kerana konsert beliau adalah 'back-to-back'. Singapore-Kuala Lumpur di tambah pula semalam jadual penerbangan beliau tertunda dan cuma tiba di Sunway lebih kurang jam 7.45 malam !!! Ataupun memang syarat yang telah ditetapkan dan harus diikuti...

Adakah Akon masih kesunyian? Jawaban yang diberikan agak diplomasi. Ya lah... Kalau dah sibuk dengan siri jelajah dunia dan bertemu dengan peminat berbagai ragam, mana mungkin akan merasa kesunyian lagi.

Yang pasti Akon memang berpuas hati dengan sokongan penaja dan lebih-lebih lagi peminat yang membanjiri Sunway Lagoon semalam untuk menyaksikan konsert beliau. Diberitakan hampir 8000 tiket berjaya di jual. Tapi saya percaya jumlah yang datang memang ramai dari pelbagai bangsa. Penuh dengan lautan manusia semalam sebenarnya. Sebab itulah beliau berjanji akan datang lagi... !!! (Cerita pasal konsert 24/10? Nantilah... yang ni lagi BEST !!!)

Alahai... Konsert AKON Ditunda ke 24 Oktober 2009lah Pulak !!!

Konsert AKON akan dijadualkan pada hari Sabtu, 24 Oktober 2009 di tempat yang sama - Surf Beach @ Sunway Lagoon bermula jam 8 malam. Harga tiket yang dijual sebelum ini iaitu RM 88 (Zon Pantai), RM 138 (Zon Rock) dan RM 188 (The Pitt) tidak mempunyai sebarang perubahan. Tiket yang sudah dibeli masih boleh digunakan untuk konsert pada hari berkenaan.

Bagi peminat yang sudah membeli tiket sebaliknya tidak pasti mengenai tarikh konsert sebenar, pemulangan duit tiket boleh dibuat dari 6 - 18 Julai 2009 ini di pejabat Axcess, Petaling Jaya Selangor D.E.

Menurut sumber yang saya baca AKON terpaksa menangguhkan konsertnya kali ini di KL & Manila atas faktor peribadi yang mempunyai kaitan mengenai keluarga Akon. Akibat faktor itu, AKON tidak berkesempatan untuk menunaikan janji berkunjung ke negara ini dalam masa terdekat. (Kan keluarga perlu diutamakan).

Saya? Sudah tentu akan menyimpan tiket ini. Seakan terkena badi pula... sudahlah kes Konsert Rihanna yang ditangguh tiada sebarang berita sehingga kini. Ini pula Konsert AKON ditangguh. Tapi tak mengapa... AKON pasti akan ku tunggu !!!

Freedom Beach Concert 09 with AKON !!!

It is confirmed now with Allah's Will Lisa and me will be beach partying with Akon on 2 July 2009 @ Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach. As Akon has promised that he will give his fans an unforgettable experience with his talented showmanship. One second he will be dabbling in emo-pop with Lonely and the next he will be singing about the street life in Ghetto definitely this will be such a memorable experience with all the sing-a-long session of Lonely, Sorry Blame it On Me, I Wanna Love You, Smack That, Right Now Na Na Na, Beautiful etc.. As for me this will be my third time in Malaysia watching Akon Live in Flesh & Blood !!!
