Everybody sees it’s you.
I’m the one that lost the view.
Everybody says we’re through.
I hope you haven’t said it too.
So where do we go from here,
With all this fear in our eyes?
And, where can love take us now?
We’ve been so far down.
We can still touch the sky.
If we crawl
‘til we can walk again
Then we’ll run
Until we’re strong enough to jump.
Then we’ll fly
Until there is no end.
So let’s crawl, crawl, crawl
Back to love.
Yeah, back to love, yeah.
Why did I change the pace?
Hearts were never meant to race.
Always felt the need for space.
And now I can’t reach your face.
So where are you standing now?
Are you in the crowd of my faults?
Love, can’t you see my hand?
I need one more chance.
We can still have it all.
So we’ll crawl
‘til we can walk again.
Then we’ll run
Until we’re strong enough to jump.
Then we’ll fly
Until there is no end
So let’s crawl, crawl, crawl
Back to love.
Yeah, back to love, yeah.
Everybody sees it’s you.
Well I never wanna lose that view.
So we’ll crawl
‘til we can walk again.
Then we’ll run
Until we’re strong enough to jump.
Then we’ll fly
Until there is no end.
So let’s crawl, crawl, crawl.
So we’ll crawl
‘til we can walk again.
Then we’ll run
Until we’re strong enough to jump.
Then we’ll fly
Until there is no end.
So let’s crawl, let’s crawl, let’s crawl
Back to love.
Note : "Crawl" is the second single off Chris Brown's upcoming third album Graffiti. The single has been confirmed by Chris Brown saying that it would be released on November 13, 2009. The song was co-written by Nasri, Adam Messinger, and Luke James, and was produced by The Messengers.
The melancholy "Crawl" features Brown pensively singing about a relationship that has slipped out of his hands; lyrical parallels to his situation with Rihanna are inevitable. The two briefly reunited after their much-publicized February altercation, however, following ongoing court hearings and stay-away orders, the pair has split. "When I heard the whole concept and everything I was like, 'Yo, this is crazy," Brown said about the track. He also said that it could be the best record he's ever done.
"Everybody sees it's you/ I'm the one that lost the view ," Brown sings. "Everybody says we're through/ I hope you haven't said it, too."
The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn, who also worked with Brown on the I Can Transform Ya and Forever videos. The parallel to his own shattered relationship with Rihanna is hard to dismiss, and as the director of the "Crawl" video, Joseph Kahn, said, "It's probably his most personal thing he's ever done". He also predicted the visuals to "Crawl" will make as much of an impact as the song. But Brown told MTV News that the song actually isn't just about his own relationships. He said "Crawl" is more of a universal message dedicated to moving on past any type of heartache. The video for "Crawl" features R&B artist and model Cassie. The video premiered on the Wendy Williams Show on Friday, November 13, 2009.
At the beginning of the video, we see Brown sitting on his bed with his heart being seen through his shirt as he starts to sing the first verse. The scene then changes to the street where we see load of paparazzi taking photos of Cassie and Chris standing there hoping she will notice him, but she does not so Chris walks away. The scene changes and Cassie walks into a shop where Chris is standing but he walks out singing which gets Cassie's attention. Then they are both seen walking towards each other where they meet in the middle.
